Characters

K... just need to get this out of my head and onto something..
You know how there's sometimes a show, book, or game that people rave about, and your familiar with the characters but just haven't actually seen/read/played whatever the character is from? And one of the characters... usually the main character, seems so incredibly awesome that you just have to read/watch/play whatever it is just so you can see this epic character. So you finally get around to watching/reading/playing whatever it is. That epic character, for the first few chapters/episodes/etc is just as untouchable and amazing as everyone says they is. So you decide to watch/read/play more of whatever it is, and the character gradually, or sometimes rather quickly, becomes more and more human. Suddenly, you can connect with this previously untouchable character you found so awesome. And it makes you feel like you can do anything they did. It's pretty amazing, how fiction can do that.

I've found that one way to get pretty good at papercraft-- papercraft people especially-- is to make a papercraft person for all your family members for Christmas. It's tiring, but I suppose it does start to get easier once you know what you're doing...
